Loki won 1st place in Novice this morning! He recieved a score of 192 1/2 a beautiful ribbon and a cash prize! I'm so excited! The judge said I have a very nice working dog and I should stick with obedience. What a start to the weekend
March 1-2, 2008
Loki qualified for his 2nd leg of his CD on Saturday with a 181 1/2 (which sucked after his debut performance). I was incredibly nervous after doing so well the day before.
On Sunday Loki NQ'd in true Vizsla style. After almost perfect on-leash heeling (the judge had only docked 3 points after the on leash pattern and figure 8) I lost him on an about turn and then had to go into a fast. The minute I started running Loki lost his mind! He starting burning laps around the obedience ring and playbowing and bucking like a little saddle bronc just having a great time. Nothing I could do but laugh. He then proceded to do a reasonable recall and perfect sits and downs (the little booger fell asleep on the down stay 5 minutes after going snakey in the ring. The judge wrote "Nice working dog!" on his score sheet. He only lost 3 1/2 points on the whole thing - oh and 30 points for the off leash part.
Looks like we're going to Red Deer next month!

Loki qualified for all three legs of his pre-novice CD obedience title this weekend!
Yay Loki!
January Training on Pheasants
Happy New Year!
2008 should be a great year! Loki is entered for pre-novice obedience trial the first week of February. We will be practicing allot between now and then
Wish us Luck!
We were out training at Wessex - although it was pretty cold and really, really windy we had a great day! Below is a slide show I made from today first showing Loki "training" my friends 13 week old German Wirehaired Pointer Puppy. The rest of the pictures are Loki hunting, going on point, marking the retrieve and then doing a beautiful retrieve to hand. I was really impressed with him today! He ran HUGE - i've never seen him run so big.
I sure hope there are more nice days to get out training before winter really sets in :)
Another Major Win in the States!
Today Loki took BOW for another 3 point major at the Helena Montana Kennel Club show! YAY Loki - not bad to get both majors out of the way in his first U.S. shows! 6 points down 9 to go - a huge thanks to Kerri Van Eaton for taking him to the states and doing such a fantastic job of showing him for me!
1st U.S. Major!
Loki took BOB for a 3 point major today (September 20, 2007) at the Gallatin Kennel Club Show in Montana under Judge Eugene Blake! This is his first set of American shows and his first US show points! He was shown by my very good friend Kerri Van Eaton and she called me from ringside to tell me about his win.
Well this is the summer of training for Loki - He has been on birds almost twice a week all summer and I'm hoping to have him broke for FD and field trials by spring. I also plan on doing his CD this winter. He has matured into a wonderful confidant dog and I just love him to death.
Kerri Van Eaton is taking him to 4 days of shows in Montana in September so we'll cross our fingers!
Loki's health clearances are also being done this month and results should be on the site shortly.
Another Derby Placement! On Sunday May 6th Loki took 4th place out of 16 dogs in the German Shorthaired Pointer All Breed Open Derby Stake. The Day before he finished his FDJ with a score of 92/100. What a weekend! Check back for a photo.
On Saturday April 28th Loki took 4th place out of 14 dogs in the Brittany Club of Canada Open Derby!!!

On March 2, 2007 Loki went BOB at the CKOC show under judge Margaret Jones to finish his Canadian Championship! Way to go Loki!
On November 4th, 2006 handled by my friend Kerri Van Eaton Loki got BOB for 2 points at the Red Deer and District Kennel Club show. The next day he got BOS for another 2 points!
Loki Takes 2nd Place in the Puppy Stake at the Calgary Pointing Dog Club Field Trial on August 27th 2006 West of Calgary! Very exciting as this is the fist time a Vizsla has placed in a trial in Alberta in quite awhile! Loki was the only Vizsla in an entry of Brittany Spaniels and one Weimeraner.
Here is Loki and I with Trial Juges Jayne Coneybeare and Harvey Linville and his beautiful red ribbon!

Two weeks later On Septermber 9th 2006 Loki took 4th place in the Open Puppy Stake at the German Shorthaired Pointer Club Field Trial!
On August 8th despite it being the hottest day of the year loki earned two legs towards his FDJ with a 90 and an 85! Wow!
In June 2006 Loki Gets his NAVHDA NA Prize II with a score of 108/112 at 15 months old! Loki cleared the field of birds finding and pointing 5 of them in the field section, he also swam like a pro. He had perfect scores except for a 2/4 on the tracking portion of the test.
The judges comment at the end of the day "Maam, you've got a real nice dog there"
