Loki is my first Vizsla, my first purbred dog actually, and he has completely changed my life. He has the most wonderful happy go lucky personality and I just love him to bits. I once was involved in a discussion about which is a better pet a male or female dog and someone said "the girls love you but the boys are IN LOVE with you." This is certainly true of Loki who is wherever I am in the house no matter where I am. The only thing he loves more than snuggling with me is birds and he would hunt until he collapsed from exhaustion if I let him.
Loki finished his show CH at 2 years old and that same year got his NAVHDA NA title with a score of 108 out of 112. He also obtained two legs of his FDJ with excellent scores and then finished his FDJ the following spring with a bang getting 92/100 on his FDJ and then placing 4th in an all breed open derby stake the next day. He has since earned multiple derby placements and was #1 field trial Vizsla in Canada in 2006 and #2 in 2007. Loki is a hard driving hunter in the field with lots of range (especially for a Vizsla) and a great nose. He makes sure there are no birds left in the field when he's done.
Loki is mostly broke and earned his FD this spring. I am hoping to have him ready for running in some gundog stakes next season. We have also been doing allot of obedience work and he earned his pCD (pre-novice companion dog) in February and his CD in May with a High in Class! Loki loves to please me and is becoming a very good obedience dog! This year we will be working on earning his CDX and perhaps FDX as well.
